Arsenal Interest in Benzema

According to reports Arsenal may enter the race to swoop in and steal Karim Benzema for 30 million pounds.  Usually reluctant to spend, Arsene Wenger may have cash to spend and the need for a striker if Emmanuel Adebayor's long-rumored move to AC Milan goes through.  The signing of the French striker would represent an upgrade and would also deprive rival Manchester United of a player Sir Alex Ferguson has long coveted.

With an ample war chest available after recently offloading a certain petulant galactico, it will be interesting to see if Man U makes a big splash somewhere. With Benzema and David Villa seemingly preferring to land elsewhere, there have been few potential targets who could provide the goals the Red Devils will need to take back the Champions League crown and a fourth successive Premier League title.
